Consistency is King – The Pull – 8-19-15

673725_tmnt-ongoing-49Here is my pull list for this week:

Injustice Gods Among Us Year Four #8

If there is one thing that is reliable, it is this series. I can rely on not only its consistent release schedule (which is a digital first comic that somehow manages to ship multiple times a month), but I can rely on its quality as a title as a whole. I honestly can’t think of a book in DC’s catalog that has been as consistently fun as this.

TMNT #49

Speaking of consistency, this iteration of TMNT has been fantastic. Myself coming on board with the City Fall arc (I know, it’s a shame that I haven’t read the beginning of this series), I have been nothing but happy with it. Both the story and the art have been consistently amazing. If your a Turtles fan like myself, you owe it to yourself to check out the series.

Trees #12

Keeping on the theme, Trees has been…not so consistent in its quality. I am a huge Warren Ellis fan. And although this series has started out amazing, things seem to drag on and on more than I would like. At this point in the series, it seems like we would have a lot more to chew on. But with so many characters to keep track of across multiple continents, the story seems to slow to a crawl. Still, the premise is amazing although the execution can use a bit more refinement.

Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows #4

Dan Slot has been on Spider-Man for a long, long time. And if you can say anything, this man has been…you guessed it, CONSISTENT with his quality on the series. You know going into a Spidey story with him at the helm that its going to be good. Renew Your Vows is no different. If you are a fan of Secret Wars or not, as long as you are a Spider-Man fan, you will more than likely love it.

Star Wars #8

Star Wars is thick in the air as Episode VII is fast approaching. And what better way to pump yourself up for it than to read this fantastic series penned by the ever so hot Jason Aaron? As with TMNT above, if you are a fan of Star Wars at all, you will more than likely love this series.

And that will be it for me this week. Let me know what you think or what you plan on picking up!
