Smaller but Better – The Pull – 8-26-15

detailHere are the books I’m most looking forward to reading this week:

Low #9

This title from Rick Remender is fantastic. I know of a few that have given up on this title a little too prematurely. I don’t blame them either. This book didn’t start out too hot. In fact, it was pretty confusing to begin with. And given Greg Toccini’s beautiful swashes of slightly disfigured watercolor art, I just don’t think many people got what they initially thought they were buying into. That’s a shame given how fantastic this story has gotten. Mankind’s journey to the surface of the earth hasn’t been this fun in a long time.

Ant-Man Last Days #1

Given Ant-Man’s recent success at the box office, it is a given that this book will see a boost in sales. Nick Spencer is on fire these days. Since his awesome run with the shamefully underrated Superior Foes of Spider-Man, he has aptly taken his humorous talents to Ant-Man. With Secret Wars being so great, I can’t wait to read this tie-in.

Old Man Logan #4

The Brian Michael Bendis/Andrea Sorrentino team is firing on all cylinders with this title. If you’re a fan of Wolverine, great storytelling, and wonderful art, look no further than here.

Star Wars Lando #3

I’ll admit, I have yet to begin this series, which is all the better as I can read this story without as many cliffhangers. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this title, and with Charles Soule taking the helm, I know I’m in for a good read.

Well that’s about it for this week. Let me know what you think!
