The Pull – 6-25-14

1403551919000-SM-Cv32-dsLast week was fun. In particular, the new TMNT Turtles in Time book was awesome. It was a book that I didn’t really plan on picking up but was glad I did. It made me laugh out loud which is a rarity. I am one-hundred percent on board with it after reading just the first issue in this mini-series. I recommend you pick it up.

Furthermore, Sex Criminals was good as usual, though I am not completely enamored with it like many others are. Uncanny X-Men had a great end to its long arc involving Sentinals, Shield, an an unexpected villain pulling the strings.

But that was last week, we have a huge week to look forward to. So here goes:

Batman #32

Injustice Gods Among Us Year 2 #6

Superman #32

Trees #2

Amazing Spider-Man #3

Guardians of the Galaxy #16

Batman’s Zero Year arc has been gaining a little steam as it came whimpering out of the gates. Though things are getting better, really, I can’t wait for this arc to be over so we can get back into the normal swing of things. I want to see another modern epic like what we saw with Court of Owls and Death of the Family. Zero Year just isn’t it.

Moving on, yes, I am going to be picking up a Superman book. Why? Well, because I am a JR JR fan and Geoff Johns has more than proven himself as a writer. But at this point, my expectations are nil. I give this book three issues to get its hooks into me. If it doesn’t, I’m out.

Last, but not least, the book I am most excited to read is Trees #2. I gave this book a glowing score for its first entry. Really, it’s hard to say at this point, but I think this is going to turn out to be a very special book. Warren Ellis is killing it these days. He brings “weird” to a whole new level.

That’s all I have. What are you planning on picking up on Wednesday? Let me know in the comments!
