The Pull – 1-14-15

662883_star-wars-1-pichelli-variantFirst off, thanks to everyone who read and commented on my best of 2014 list. It was fun to write and even more fun to talk to everyone who commented. There are a lot of books I learned that I need to read. East of West comes to mind as well as Saga, which I am pretty far behind on. I have some catching up to do. I’m also glad that I may have introduced many of you to books that you never thought of reading including Superior Foes of Spider-Man and Avengers A.I.. There’s just so much quality out there to read that it seems overwhelming. Nonetheless, the show must go on. Here is what I plan on picking up in this doozy of a week:

Injustice Gods Among Us Year Three #7

Jupiter’s Legacy #5

Lazarus #14

Walking Dead #136

Cyclops #9

Daredevil #12

Silver Surfer #8

Star Wars #1

Yeah, I wouldn’t hesitate to say this is the strongest week that I have seen in quite a while. First off, Jupiter’s Legacy is returning after its hiatus that seemed to have gone on for way too long. I am super excited to pick this book back up considering where we left off at the end of the first arc.

Returning this week is one of my top books of last year in Lazarus. This book has really taken off, especially with the current arc. This is a series that I hope goes on for a long, long time. It’s that good, folks.

Moving on to the Marvel front, we see what I consider a fantastic book in Cyclops come out. While writer Greg Rucka is no longer on the helm of this book, it’s still a strong, fun read which is a shame considering the book is not long for this world. That’s too bad but at least we’re getting books like Daredevil and the amazing Silver Surfer out this week. I mean how did I miss Silver Surfer in my best of list? This book has been nothing short of astonishing. Seriously, it’s that good.

Finally we have the mammoth in the room. Star Wars makes it’s triumphant return to Marvel after what was a very long life with Dark Horse. But with Jason Aaron and John Cassaday on the creative front, you know you’re going to be seeing some quality pages being churned out. Marvel isn’t giving this epic i.p. to just anyone, its giving it to its all-star talent.

That’s what I plan on picking up this week. What do you plan on reading? Let me know in the comments!
